Getting Rid of Hair Lice the Natural Way

Head Lice is one colossal problem for many people, especially school going children and getting rid of these little monsters might become an uphill task. Head lice are basically tiny parasites that cause itchiness in scalp and hair shafts as they live and suck blood from your scalp. We do not advise you to use harsh chemical drugs to get relief from this problem because that can cause damage to your hair. We suggest you to rather go for more natural, toxin free and homemade solutions.
Here is the list of some highly effective homemade remedies to get rid of hair lice:

1.      Lice Treatment Using Essential Oils
Add 1 tbsp. of coconut oil or olive oil in 10-12 drops of tea tree oil and gently apply this mixture on the entire scalp. Nourish every hair strand from roots to the tip using this mixture. Keep it overnight. Wash and shampoo, the very next morning and you will see the lice count drop instantaneously.

2.      Use Natural Shampoo to Treat Lice
Mix five to seven drops of tea tree oil in 1tbsp of any herbal shampoo. Mix it in your palm and gently massage your scalp with this mixture. Keep it for 5-10 minutes and then rinse with water. Dry your hair and use a lice comb to extract out lice from your hair.

3.      Garlic- A Weapon in Your Arsenal Against Hair Lice
Garlic has a very strong fragrance that can kill head lice. Crush 8-10 garlic cloves and mix it with lime juice. Apply this mixture thoroughly on the entire scalp and leave it. Rinse it with hot water within half an hour. You can also mix some garlic paste with cooking oil, lemon extract, and green tea or your personal shampoo and conditioner. Apply this mixture on the entire scalp and hair. Wrap all the hair into a towel or a shower cap. Rinse it using regular shampoo with lukewarm water.

4.      Salt- Yes it can Help in Dealing With Hair Lice
Add one-quarter of salt mixture to one-quarter of vinegar mixture. Spray this solution on the hair in order to make all the hair a little wet. Leave it for like two hours and rinse it with cold water. You can use your regular shampoo and conditioner. Do it for three days to get positive results.

Head lice are a common and a difficult problem to handle. Cosmetic and chemical products available in the market for this problem can make your hair dry and dull. We recommend switching to homemade remedies that can effectively remove lice from your head without causing any damage to the hair.
