Then you need to know that blending of essential oils is not rocket science but is an art which is not that hard to master. Here we will share the basics of blending essential oils with you so that you can get the oils of your choice and start making your own synergy blends.
•    With what motive do you want to use essential oils? You need to determine that why do you want to blend these oils? And to what use they will be put to?

•    Choosing Quality Essential OilsThere are varying qualities and types of essential oils available in the market. If you have decided that for what purpose are you going to use the oil than based upon that you can easily decide upon the quality you need. Almost all the essential oils are for external use only and while some brands are therapeutic grade others are not. Some of these are not pure essential oils and contain fillers or additives.

•    Find Essential Oils With The Needed PropertiesIt is best to first research on internet and know that which oils have your desired properties in them. This will help you know about the various options which are available for you to choose from.

•    Blending Based On Categories And NotesThis step might seem tricky but believe us it is not that confusing.  Firstly you need to pick and choose oils based on each oils “category” and “note”.  This technique is used so that your blend of oils smell’s nice. Essential oils that are grouped together based on their aromas, and oils from the same categories tend to blend well together.

•    Blending And Testing The BlendYou can actually start the blending process once you have narrowed down your oil choices based on what they will be used for and also based on their categories plus notes. We recommend that you start with just ten drops of oil so that you can test your blend without wasting too much. Now you must be wondering that how much of each oil is to be used? The rule to go by when preparing a blend of essential oils is that you should  you use 30% of your top note oil, 50% of your middle note oil, and 20% of your base note oil.

•    Let Your Essential Oil Blend RelaxAfter mixing the oils keep the blend aside and let it rest for 24 to 48 hours. This resting period allows the ingredients of different essential oils to blend in together.

•    Now It’s Time To Test
You can test the blend of essential oils firstly just by smelling it and then can try to mix it with carrier oil and smell it again.

If suppose you do not like the smell than you can start the process over varying the amount of oils used or you can choose to go on with different oils all together. Just remember that when it comes to mixing of essential oils and creating a blend possibilities are endless!
